Musselbaren

Architect: The client in partnership with the contractor, along with the distributor EFG
Assignment: Delivery of furnishings for a new lifestyle restaurant

CONCEPT EMERGED DURING DISCUSSIONS

Musselbaren opened in Smögen, on the west coast of Sweden, in spring 2017. The bar can be found on the quay at Smögen’s harbour entrance – the ideal location for a seafood restaurant that truly focuses on its raw ingredients, and particularly the local mussels. The new concept emerged during discussions, a mutual exchange of thoughts and ideas between the client and contractor. “The key was to find out what the owner wanted to communicate to their customers,” says Kurt Tingdal of Offecct on the origin and implementation of the project together with the distributor EFG.

It’s essential to find out what our clients want to communicate to their customers

NATURAL, TACTILE MATERIALS

Natural, tactile materials such as cool stone, cold steel, smooth wood and soft leather set a particular tone, a palpable atmosphere. Facctory was commissioned to deliver the elegant floor- and wall-mounted sofas with seats and backs in the finest leather from Elmo. The model was developed in close collaboration with the customer.
